Who hasn''t dreamed of having a sliding table saw in their shop? Nothing beats it for crosscutting wide pieces, like cabinet parts. But most of us don''t have the space for a slider, let alone the money to purchase a machine that''s more commonly found in industrial settings. Fortunately, Grizzly has found a way to incorporate a sliding table into a saw that''s about the same size as a standard cabinet saw. The G0700''s base measures 25-1/2" by 27-1/2". The saw is priced right in line with most cabinet saws. The saw features a 5 hp motor, an adjustable scoring blade (for tear-out-free cuts in plywood) and an extruded-aluminum sliding table and miter fence. The miter fence can be positioned 45° right and left and has a flip stop for repetitive cutting. The sliding table has a crosscut capacity of 34"; the saw''s main fence has a rip capacity of 34". Unlike many sliding tablesaws, this saw''s arbor accepts a dado set up to 13/16" wide. The saw also has an adjustable riving knife and great dust collection, with a 4" main dust port and a 2-1/2" blade-guard dust port. This saw''s small size and competitive price have earned it our Editors Pick Award.
